Charleston’s newest sports bar, Cleats., opened in January 2024 at The Refinery in the North Morrison neighborhood in Downtown Charleston. Jeremiah Schenzel, who is also a partner at Daps Breakfast & Imbibe and Daps Bev. Co., owns and operates Cleats. Cleats. incorporates creative elements similar to those found at Daps, which guests will notice throughout the space. There is also a continued emphasis on providing high-quality food, drinks, and a sense of community.
Whether you are a sports fan or not, Cleats. is a great spot for camaraderie with friends or to cheer on your favorite team with beer and wings in hand.
Take a Look Inside Cleats.
The Interior
The interior of Cleats. features large windows overlooking The Refinery’s lawn, including the stage that hosts concerts and events. In the center of the restaurant is a large, colorful bar with line art underneath, long tables, and, of course, TVs to watch the game. Guru Tip: Cleats. will still be open for business during concerts, so head inside for a drink and some tasty bites to watch the concert from indoors!
The Exterior
The Patio at Cleats. is a must-visit and an ideal spot to hang out on a sunny day. There are long picnic tables to enjoy the sunshine while sipping a draft beer or specialty cocktail. During the weekends, The Refinery closes down the street in front of Cleats., making this patio very dog- and kid-friendly.
Private Events at Cleats.: Whether you need the entire space or smaller rooms for more intimate gatherings, Cleats. and The Refinery have you covered. Cleats. can even provide catering! Email Catering@CleatsCHS.com with catering inquiries.
The Menu
Creating a restaurant that served really great sandwiches inspired Jeremiah and his team to create Cleats. The menu includes awesome hot and cold sammies, salads, and chicken wings served with cheese sauce, artichoke dip, bean dip, and more tasty food options. Jeremiah’s favorite menu item is the Cleats. Pit Beef Hot Sammie. Cleats. Pit Beef is made with char-grilled beef, horsey sauce, and onion, served on a potato bun.
Cleats. also has a great drink menu that features a large selection of local beers on tap, creative cocktails, and even Frozen Gatorade that can be made boozy.
