A Look Inside: Islander 71

July 27, 2022

Islander 71 Fish House and Deck Bar, situated next to the Isle of Palms Marina overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, officially opened on May 14, 2022. This laidback restaurant and bar is a nod to the easy-going beach life of IOP in the 1970’s. Islander 71 offers Southern cuisine with an emphasis on seafood, boat drinks, and cold beer. Charleston Guru stopped by to get a look inside this new waterfront destination.

The Interior

Islander 71’s interior feels like a classic boathouse with wood paneling, vintage decor, and panoramic views of the water. The open floor plan has a variety of seating, including numerous tables, booths, and a cozy bar area.

The Exterior

The exterior at Islander 71 is easily one of the most spacious options in the Charleston area. There’s a large turf area with corn hole and an outdoor stage, multiple bars and decks, and plenty of places to catch sunset. Guests can expect beautiful views of the water from the upper deck. Complimentary valet parking and free boat docking are available for all patrons.

The Menu

Hushpuppies, seared tuna, fry platters, filet mignon, and ceviche are just a small selection from Islander 71’s Southern seafood-centric menu. There’s also a kids menu, with options like mac and cheese and buttered pasta. On the beverage side, there’s everything from “Boat Drinks” to wine by the glass to cold beer (including four options on draft).
